Papal oak
Plac Franciszkański 1
58-530 Kowary
The most interesting natural element of the churchyard park is the young "papal oak" planted in 2006 to commemorate Pope John Paul II. This peculiar "living memorial" grew out of an acorn collected three years earlier at "Chrobry" – the oldest in Poland 750-year old oak growing near the village of Piotrowice in Lubuskie Province.
